Windows XP ...using a HP 6210 all in one to scan.

Heres my problem...

I just scanned a 39 pg. document ( 75 dpi, 256 greyscale ) and came up with an almost 7mb file.

I was sent a 42 pg document ( unk. specs) but same type of blk and whi document...426kb file.

I tried to reduce the file size on the large file and dropped it to almost 6.5 MB...

What am I doing wrong...and how can I get the file size down to kb??

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 6.0, Windows

More Info:

I had prior scanned this entire 39 pg document under 300 dpi....and it was over 21 mb size.

I just looked at the 6.5 mb file at 75 dpi and its hard to read...and looks like poor quality.

I need to get my 21 mb 39 page doc to look like the 42 pg. 426kb document....

just checked out the PDF Optimizer/ audit space usage and found that 99.04% of the 21 MB file is used in Images. There are no graphics in this doc.....it's a real estate contract...

any ideas???

If it is a black and white document, why are you not scanning as "black and white". Grayscale will be much larger than black and white.
