Creating .pdf from web page--"general error" Mac OSX

When I try to create a .pdf from any web page--even Adobe pages--it begins to download the page, then I get the general error message. So far, I have been unable to get any web page to convert to .pdf. I've tried reinstalling the program on both a desktop iMac and a MacBook with the same result.
Any suggestions?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Macintosh

What command are you using to create the PDF from web pages (i.e., File --> Create PDF --> From Web Page)?
What version of OS X? Have you tried running the detect and repair?

I've tried both starting at the frontpage screen with the various starts points and simply doing File --> Create PDF --> From Web Page. Neither works on either a PowerPC iMac G4 or an Intel-based MacBook.
I'm using Mac OS 10.5.4.
I've run the Disk Utility, but I'm not sure what you mean by "detect and repair" if it's not that.
Thanks for the quick response!

Detect and Repair is under the Help menu in Acrobat.

Got it. It said "repairs are not needed."

Anyone have any ideas why this would not work? I'm new to using Acrobat, but creating pdf. from web pages is one of the main functions I need it for.

Have you installed all the latest updates for Acrobat 8 (8.1.2)? Unfortunately this sounds like a known issue with Acrobat 8 on OS X 10.5 that is documented in Known issues when using Acrobat/Reader 8.1.1 with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).

Got it! Thank you very much!
I should note for anyone else with this problem in Acrobat Pro 8.0 for Mac 10.5.x that when you do this update from 8.0, you must first update to 8.1, then 8.1.1, then 8.1.2, then do the 8.1.2 Security Update, restarting after each one.

(The issue is also resolved in Pro 9.0 if you upgrade to it.)

Thanks again, lkassuba!
