Creating PDF's from Excel 2004 for Mac using Acrobat

I'm trying to create a PDF. The spreadsheet is Excel 2004 for Mac with MULTIPLE SHEETS. When I open the document and try to create a PDF from Excel 2004 for Mac, I get the error message:

"PDF Maker failed to initialize the document for conversion. Please verify if you have modification rights for the document"

The document has no security or modification rights on it. I've tried with different spreadsheets, and I always get this message.

When it does end up creating the PDF anyway, it doesn't do the multiple sheets on the Excel spreadsheet...only the first sheet. I've highlighted and selected the multiple sheets, so that's not the problem...it should be creating multiple PDF pages from the multiple Excel sheets.

When I try to open the document in Acrobat 8 (Acrobat Professional 8.1.2) (using the "Create PDF function") I get the following error message:

"Acrobat could not open ***.xls because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged."

I've also updated the software on both Acrobat and Excel 2004 for Mac, but the problem continues to happen.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8.1.2, Macintosh

I've tried it on Leopard (10.5.4) and it works. But on Tiger (10.4.11) it doesn't work. Is this the issue, the OS?
