I just ordered Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended in order to use the distiller to create PDF files. I am building a newspaper in a sign program (until my Quarkxpress comes in). The program is VE LXI Master. I can't save files as a PDF in this program. Will I be able to use Acrobat to save files as a PDF? This is going to be a quick turn around project, and I really need to get some advice ASAP. Thanks so much.

Acrobat will not change how another programs works unless it installs a special plug-in like it does for MS Office.

Acrobat will install a virtual printer that will work like any other printer with the exception that the output by default will go to a PDF file. The file created like the paper printout from a printer will not have any interactive features like workable links.

You can download the trial version of Acrobat Pro 9 and use it for 30 days to evaluate if it's what you really need.
