Created some documents as xdp files. When a pdf is created using LiveCycle forms the font is not embedded. When another user opens the pdf they do not get the correct font. How can I fix this so the font is embedded?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.2, Windows

Hi --

Use the Save As command when you are finished working with your form and resave the file with your desired name. On that dialog box, you can choose the Embed Fonts checkbox at the bottom of the dialog box. In xdp format, Embed Fonts is disabled, but automatically applied.

On the other hand, you can use any of these fonts below, which are default fonts for Acrobat and Adobe Reader:

• Adobe Pi Std, Adobe Sans MM, Adobe Serif MM

• Courier Std, Courier Std Bold, Courier Std Bold Oblique, Courier Std Oblique

• Minion Pro Bold, Minion Pro Bold It, Minion Pro It, Minion Pro Regular

• Myriad Pro Bold, Myriad Pro Bold It, Myriad Pro It, Myriad Pro Regular

• Symbol (Type 1)

On the 'Save as' GUI there is an optional check box to 'Embed Fonts' and some other options with regards to fonts. If you check the "Embed Fonts' option. specify on of the PDF formats, and 'Save' the fonts that can be emended should be embeded. You check the status of the fonts in Acrobat.

XDP files are for saving working forms not for distribution to users that only have Acrobat or Reader.

Yes, I do see the "Embed fonts" option but it is disabled when the Save As Type is "Adobe XML Form (*.xdp)". We use this format.

Hi gkaiseril,

My problem is When I use Arial Narrow font, it prints gibberish eventhough I have Arial Narrow installed on my pc. This Arial Narrow problem is related to Office 2007. I tried installing the older version but did not work.

So if the fonts are embedded then I don't have to rely on whether the fonts are installed in the pc or not.

Thanks.

The OP was asking about ebeding the fonts in the PDF file created from LiveCycle Designer.

Does the XDP or TDS file format support ebeding font metrics as does Acrobat?

I do not think so. So it makes no sense to allow an unsupported option.
