First time posting and I would appreciate any advise.
I am a Windows XP user with Acrobat Pro version 8.1.2. I am attempting to extract a multiple page PDF (originally derived from a Illustrator file) into multiple one page PDF with final file size of importance do to the application and the sheer number of end files.
I have done this before with success but now that I am trying to repeat the process my end file sizes have jumped by a factor of 2. Currently my original file size for a 10 page PDF, stripped down using Examine Document function as well as Reduce File Size is 373kb. When I extract the document into individual PDFs, my file size for each is running 120 to 160 kb each.
In my previous attempts at this I was able to attain file sizes in the 50 to 80 kb range and this was without any attempts at reducing the upfront file size.
The original PDF was created by someone other than myself but I have been informed it was saved as "low resolution". Any additional info is unavailable as that person is currently on vacation (lucky stiff).
Thanks in advance for any help.
Did you try to extract the pages without first compressing/stripping down the original? I wonder if that may make a difference as you aren't then dragging along the overall file's compression/transparency/flattening, etc. data to the individual page files.
