I'm creating PDF files from MS Office Word 2003 files using Acrobat Professional 7.0.9. I've just discovered that most of these files, but not all of them, are not searchable with the "Find" or "Search" options. That is, every word I look for is reported as not being found in the document, even though they clearly are there. What can I do to make sure that the Find and Search options work properly in my PDF files?
Open the PDF in Acrobat and choose Document > OCR Text Recognition > Recognize Text Using OCR.In the Recognize Text dialog box, select an option under Pages.
(Optional) Click Edit to open the Recognize Text - Settings dialog box, and select the options you want to use.
Flatten or Optimize the PDF then try the search check again.
Warning: Flattening a file can not be un-done.
