Forcing the use of PDFMaker

I am not sure that this is a Lotus Wordpro question or an Adobe PDF question..... Basically the adobe pdf addins from Acrobat 9 standard do not get installed in Lotus Wordpro and I am looking for a workaround to call pdfMaker directly.

When I print a wordpro file manually from Wordpro using the "Adobe PDF" printer it seems to use Adobe pdfMaker the same way that Word does and generates a PDF file directly.

When I try to automate a file print using the "Adobe PDF" print driver it generates a postscript file that needs distilling. Does anyone know how to automate the print without the distiller step.

Hi,
When you perform a File > Print and use the Adobe Printer in Lotus WordPro, MS Word, or any installed application you are sending the file content to Adobe Distiller. A designated Distiller Job Option (default is "Standard") processes the input and outputs the PDF.This is not at all same as use of Adobe PDFMaker as PDFMaker is not a "printer instance/driver" such as are available in the OS printer drivers listing.
Basically PDFMaker pre-processes/packages the Distiller Job Option input in a manner that permits the interactive features (links, bookmarks, etc) or Tagged PDF output.

The PS file you get reflects the use of the OS provided PPD which only provides *.ps.
You could place such *.ps files in a designated folder.
Then, using Distiller, make this folder a "watched folder".
Leave Distiller open. Whenever a *.ps lands in the "watched folder" Distiller will process it out to PDF.
(n.b., there are license restriction associated with this - short blurb is in a Distiller setup dialog - details are in the EULA).
However, as mentioned before, this is not PDFMaker activitity. That is only possible with the use of supported applications.

To review those applications supported by Adobe PDFMaker and a discussion of why some applications are not supported the
