Hello.
We have an application in FrameMaker that save whole book as PDF. It uses Adobe Distiller. When Distiller 7 is installed it works correctly.
But with Adobe Acrobat 8.0/8.1 and it's distiiler it crashes.
Adobe Distiller displays Microsoft Crash dialog.
We have written ask also to FrameMaker support forum, but no reply.
Does anybody have solution?

From the Technote it looks like the last FM 7.1 update made FM 7.x compatible
with Distiller 7.x.
It may be that, even with all applicable updates for FM 7.x, it (FM) will not be
compatible with Distiller 8.x. You may have to upgrade to the current FM release.
Suggest that, if you do upgrade to current release (8), do not install the
Distiller that is on the install disc as it looks like you already have the full
release that comes with Acrobat 8.
As a benchmark, I am able to use FM 7.2 (with all updates through 7.2p158) with Distiller 8.1.0. (however, FM 8 works better... )

FrameMaker installs the required version of Acrobat Distiller. If you use a version of Acrobat Distiller that's not compatible with FrameMaker, you may need to update or upgrade FrameMaker, or remove Acrobat Distiller and reinstall FrameMaker.
-- FrameMaker 7.2 is compatible with Acrobat Distiller 7.0. (**)
-- FrameMaker 7.1p116 is compatible with either Acrobat Distiller 6.0 or 7.0.
-- FrameMaker 7.1b023 and 7.1p114 are compatible with Acrobat Distiller 6.0.
-- FrameMaker 7.0p579 is compatible with Acrobat Distiller 5.0, 6.0 or 7.0.
-- FrameMaker 7.0p578 is compatible with either Acrobat Distiller 5.0 or 6.0.
-- FrameMaker 7.0p492 and 7.0p576 are compatible with Acrobat Distiller 5.0.
(**) this would seem to confirm that it is time to upgrade FM. ;)
Be well...
