Help displaying Furigana in PDF

Hello,

I was trying to convert a japanese text in html format to pdf.

The html file consists of kanji & hiragana, with some furigana included for the more difficult kanji.
(furigana is those little kana characters on top of a kanji, to indicate how the kanji should be read)

After creating the pdf, I found that the furigana has been positioned beside the kanji, in a bracket, instead of on top of the kanji.
(Refer to the 2 images)

pdf version:

Is there any way to make the furigana appears on top of the kanji, as per html?

I'm using Adobe acrobat 8.1 standard.

Thanks very much in advance.

I don't see an option to do that. You might want to try with Acrobat 9 (maybe a trial copy) to see if that has fixed this.
