How to disable pop-up progress/status window inorder to multi task

I love scanning in documents and filing them in my computer.

But I also do a lot of multi tasking.

My problem is that while I am scanning a 10 page document for example. I want to work in other windows such as maybe word or browse the internet. After each page is scanned in Acrobat Pro forces the Acrobat Pro window just to tell me that it has finished scanning the current page and is about to proceed to the next.

Its very irritating because I want to scan the multiple pages in the BACKGROUND and not be interrupted while I doing other things.

I looked through the preference settings and was overwhelmed with the many options available and none seem to describe how I can fix this.

Ideally I would like to scan a document and work on other things and not be forced to look at the status/progress popup window. I am satisfied with the simple flashing task bar box at the bottom.

btw, I am using windows xp pro.

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Thank you!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Windows

Hi --

Acrobat is behaving as it should. There's no feature for specifying a particular number of pages to scan, etc.

If you prefer, you can use your scanner's interface that may allow you to run multiple pages, without the popup. Open the Acrobat Scan dialog box, and choose your scanner; click the Options buttons to open further dialog boxes to configure your scanner's interface. The options that display depend on your scanner.
