I'm doing some research for an end user in regards to how many pdf's can you combine into one large pdf. For instance there is one PDF that is near 5000 pages and there are close to 500 more pdf's that need to be combined with this pdf.

So how many pdf's can you combine without locking up Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

Thanks.

There's no realistic limit on the size of a PDF other than the memory of the computer trying to open or create it - eventually it'll get sluggish, but gigabtye PDFs are regularly seen in the print industry, and Acrobat handles them just fine (with a few pauses on slower machines). Page count is largely immaterial, the size on disk is decided by what's on the pages. 5000 sheets of text will be microscopic compared to 5000 pages of diagrams.
