hyperlinks not converting from word

This is a weird problem and I haven't seen anything like it in the forums.
I have a word doc with about 19 hyperlinks (all to pdf docs) in word all 19 hyperlinks work. when I convert to pdf from the menu bar two hyperlinks are not recognized as links in the pdf and all the other are working fine. I have re entered the links in the original word document in a different part of the document, the links worked fine after conversion. I then copied the working links to the part of the document I want them to be in, ran a another conversion and they still don't work but all other links in the pdf including the ones I copied from are working fine.

It almost seems like there is somehting wrong with this area of the word document and any links in this area will not work when converted.

Any suggestions?

Are you using Word 2007? There are some other cases here in the forum where Word files from older versions of Word (i.e., Word 2003) don't appear to convert well to newer versions of Word. Specifically the syntax of some of the hyperlinks doesn't covert properly. Have you tried saving the Word file to RTF to see if the links convert?

I am using word 2003. I have just moved the links to another part of the document where they seem to work ok. I jsut would liek to avoid this problem in the future.
I've also run the repair acrobat installation and that didnt seem to change anything. The part that has me stumped is why allthe other links work after the conversion, even exact copies of the ones that dont work after converted to pdf.
