Hyperlinks in PDF Creation with Acrobat 8.1.1 Pro

I'm running Acrobat 8.1.1 Professional on a Windows XP machine. When I create a PDF from a document, it fails to underline and differentiate the color of e-mail links within the document, and it makes other text links into huge statements that begin with "!HYPERLINK..." In both cases, the links still function, but I want them to be both sleek and noticeable, just as they would appear on a web page.

During the conversion of the doc to PDF, there must have been a problem with Acrobat recognizing the hyperlink text.

Try this.

Open the PDF in Acrobat and use the link tool to correct the cosmetics of the hyperlinks.

From the menu bar, click Tools, Advanced Editing, select the Link Tool.

I tried that, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it accept revisions. It keeps throwing me into Review mode and I can't seem to change text colors or add underlines that can be seen without the comments on.
