I am trying to insert PDF pages from files into a combined file and I am getting a message reading "You cannot insert pages from an Adobe XML file into another PDF file." It is instructing me to attach the files, but I want to create a book style PDF with out the individual attachements at the bottom. is there a way to convert or disable the XML feature?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

I suspect that one (or more) of the PDF files was created in LiveCycle Designer. This will cause a problem.

LC Designer creates XFA forms that are in a PDF wrapper. It is completely different to a native PDF.

You cannot combine an XFA PDF and a native PDF together.

You can combine them in a PDF Portfolio or (as the message indicates) you can attach the XFA PDF into the native PDF.

Hope this helps,

Thank you so much for the response. I was able to do what I needed via a portfolio.
