Invalid conversion

PDFMaker error: "You have selected an invalid conversion job option. Please select a valid Job Option before running Acrobat PDFMaker." What causes this error? I found that just changing the conversion settings to something else fixes it, but would like to know what causes the problem. This can happen on one workstation and not on another with installs being exactly the same.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.8, Windows

Hi --

You answered the question yourself in that choosing a different conversion setting does the trick.

Can you replicate the error? If so, check to see what default has been specified. If Acrobat stores the .joboptions files locally, the workstations where you find the error have an invalid file in their listings. You can replace the invalid file manually. The PC storage location for the .joboptions files is at C:\Documents and SEttings\[user]\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF.

If you prefer, try running a repair by choosing Help > Repair Acrobat Installation.donna.

kwlethin,
fwiw - I would experience a similar alert re: invalid job options on a machine where Acrobat 5 (full) (with its Distiller) and Acrobat Professional 7 (with its Distiller) were installed. Needed to output PDF version 1.7 (on another box) but build cataloged indexes compatible with Reader 5's Verity search engine.
Needless to say this setup clobbered any integration with the installed MS Office applications.
With care, I could ouput PDFs from FrameMaker.
When not attentive to what Distiller job option was in play I'd sometimes be trying to have one Distiller version use the other's job options & thus the alert/error.But, if all you've got installed is Acrobat Pro 7 then this wouldn't be a variable.
