Large PDF file

My version 6.0 has become very slow and taken to creating very large PDF files. For example a recent Word Doc that was only 536K became 12mb when created to PDF, why?

The two questons are likely unrelated. I have no idea why Acrobat would bog down. Have your tried unistalling and reinstalling it?

As for the file, this is likely a result of the objects you have used in the Word file. Some things, like transparent objects, are expressed in PostScript (the intermediate language to take you to PDF) as many, small objects that retain the appearance of transparency. Word renders them as a set of instructions int he Word file, so the PDF is larger.

The only way to deal with this may be to design around such elements. Also, be sure to use the PDF Maker plug-ins to create the PDF-not File: Print.
