Link Files

I wish to add links to my PDF document that will open other files, such as another PDF; word; or spreadsheet document. However, the folder location where the PDF document and associated linked files are located may vary based on where an individual chooses to copy the files. Is there a way to stucture the Acrobat 8 Professional document to allow the user to install the files where they choose and have the links work properly? I was thinking of an install routine that recognized where the files are located and subsequently update the link information to find the files accordingly.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

Link destinations are absolute and moving files around a hard drive will break the link. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to get around the problem.
