Loss of Postscript Tags After Distilling

Hello There,

I have a user who has an XP machine with Adobe Pro 8.0 installed. She exports the file to the Postscript format and the tags are retained. The problem is that the tags seem to be deleted when she distills the postscript file back to a PDF file. Is there a setting in Adobe Distiller that I'm missing.

Thanks in Advance,
TSR

Hi.

In the very last tab of Distiller settings (when you select edit Adobe PDF Settings in 9 anyway) - in 9 it is named Advanced - try checking ON some of the items under "Document Structuring Conventions - perhaps Preserve EPS information from DSC - or - if the application can export XMP or JDF, perhaps the information can be streamed into the PostScript, but probably not - is there no way to export directly from the applcation to PDF (without Distiller?)

That is what most modern approaches use (no one passes through postscript, as the notions of many things like links and metadata are no in the PostScript language, nor will they ever be - since PostScript is no longer being updated or modified by Adobe.

Hope this helps (probably did not help much, sorry)
