The Margins change converting Word .doc to .pdf

When converting any Word .doc over one page to a .pdf it moves the top and bottom margins of the pages moving my text around. The document are specifications for customers and have been layed out specifically. We set our margins to .7 on the top and bottom and when the conversion takes place it moves them to something close to .5. I then have to manually edit before I can send the .pdfs off to the customer. The specs can be up to 200 pages long. The editing is very time consuming. Is there something I am missing so that the .pdfs are layed out exactly as the .docs?

I have set Adobe PDF printer as default before opening .docs and this does not seem to help.

Thank you.
