Hi~
New here & very new to Adobe (other than the free reader)
I do bimonthly quilting newsletter - about 24 pages each issue - for state guild and the Printer would like me to switch from paper rough draft to PDF.
I've been using Office Publisher 2000 for years.
New laptop! Loaded with Windows Vista, Adobe Acrobat 8, Office 2007 - doesn't have Publisher as I thought I could learn to do the newsletter directly in Acrobat.
Now wondering if this is a big mistake? Still have Publisher 2000 - and daughter has 2003.
Is Publisher 2000 compatible with Acrobat 8 to transfer into PDF after newsletter complete? 2003? Hesitant to install 2000 Publisher into my new baby without asking someone!
Should I use the gift card earned with laptop purchase on new 2007 Publisher? Sold separately?...Hiss! Leaning this direction and have less than 2 months now to get it figured out before next deadline.

The PDFMaker macro is a menu that installs directly in Publisher when you install Acrobat. This macro is one way (there are a few) that you can create PDFs from Publisher. Acrobat 8.1 (this is the version that supports Vista) supports the PDFMaker macro in Publisher 2002, 2003, and 2007.
Your other alternative would be to create your PDF from Publisher 2000 and use the Adobe PDF Printer (automatically installed as part of Acrobat) to create the PDF. The resulting PDF can be sent to the printer but may lack interactive features like bookmarks, hyperlinks, cross-references, etc. This are useful if you post or send your PDF for people to view.
