Not being able to change docs into pdf

I have 8.0 standard installed on my laptop (1.73 GHZ and 504 MB). I cannot change any of my docs into a pdf, neither from print (XP w/sp2), directly using acrobat, nor using the distiller--already tried repairing and updating.....what should I do now. Thanks,

Try this. In Internet Explorer, click Options, tools, manage add-ons. Enable necessary Add-on's for Internet Explorer. (This suggestion is only for converting web pages to PDF). If you are using MS Office 2007, download and install the patch for converting Office files to PDF.
