Open table in spreadsheet inconsistency

I have Adobe Professional 7.0.8 and have been using the "Open Table in Spreadsheet" facility for some time now, however I just came across an issue that has me perplexed.
The table I need to work with is a version 1.4 PDF and so has no extra features that my copy cannot work with, yet when I go to select the elements of the table and right-click to get the context menu popup I do not see the usual options.

I tested a table I created in excel, created a pdf based on this and then selected the table elements, on right-clicking I see:

Copy To Clipboard
Copy With Formatting
Replace Text (Comment)
Highlight Text
Add Note to Text (Comment)
Underline Text
Cross Out Text
Copy As Table
Save As Table
Open Table in Spreadsheet

When I repeat this test on the subject table I see:

of the table and right-click to get the context menu popup I do not see the usual options.

I tested a table I created in excel, created a pdf based on this and then selected the table elements, on right-clicking I see:

Copy To Clipboard
Replace Text (Comment)
Highlight Text
Add Note to Text (Comment)
Underline Text
Cross Out Text

I checked the security setting on the file and all operations are set to "Allowed" and so I see no reason why I cannot copy this information.

Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening and offer a solution, other than to upgrade to Adobe 8.0.

For those who are interested the pdf is available here:

and the table is on page 2.

Andy.

Andy,
Gave the sample PDF table a try. Not too cooperative.
Wondered if I could replicate this using FrameMaker ("your" PDF came from InDesign).

Tables (tagged, un-tagged, with/without a table title, with/without a table header row) authored in FrameMaker and processed to PDF can have their content processed to a spreadsheet by Acrobat.

I suspect the problem lies in how the table was made in your sample PDF's authoring application (InDesign).
