pdf 8.0 and Leopard 10.5.8: no joy

Hello,
I encounter recurring issues when trying to print to pdf with Acrobat 8.1.7 and Leopard 10.5.8. When I print a document, no error is generated, but no job is created either. Reinstalling Acrobat solves the problem for a few days only.
No simpler method such as deleting the printer and recreating it, or repairing Acrobat's installation works at all. I am now tired of reinstalling Acrobat, and so use the OSX printer, which has the drawback of creating larger files.
Any help appreciated.

Hi teneb

Have you considered resetting your Leopard print system? This has worked in many instances. Besides that, you're right on track with the repair installation method of getting the PDF printer working again.

Try the print system re-set and see if that helps?

All the best,

Jon

I've been using Acrobat since v1.0 and still get amazed by its power. An Acrobat ACE since 1999

Hello Jon,

Many thanks for your reply.
I did reset the printing system at least twice.
It did not help. (Moreover, resetting the printing system is a bit painful since one needs to re-install all printers afterwards.)
Let me ask: if the printing were the cause, would this fit with pdf printing coming back for a while after reinstalling acrobat?
Kindest regards,

Gérald
