I have just come across a vexing problem when creating PDFs from a WORD document. It seems that when I use a "hyphen" separator for a table caption which includes the chapter number, the hyphen does not appear in the bookmark in the resulting PDF. All the other separators (./:/em dash)show up just fine. Why is that? Is there a way to get the "hyphen to show up?

This sounds like a bug in Acrobat 7 that was fixed in Acrobat 8. Go ahead and upgrade.
