PDF editing marks are HUGE. Why?

We received an edited pdf from a client and the editing marks are HUGE. Usually a strike-through is a thin red line but these are BIG thick lines so that you can't easily identify what content should be removed. And an insert carrot is usually in proportion to the text in the pdf, but these marks are greatly enlarged to the point where they are almost unusable.

Any ideas why?

Maybe it is way the commentor has set the annoations (comments) properties. It is possible to print the PDF without the comments on the output, but you will need to select this option in the Pring UI dialog.

If you have Acrobat Professional, you can use the redaction tool or the PDF Optimizer to remove the annotations or comments.
