when I open a pdf in acrobat 8 standard, it opens as the name of a picture file (1 page file saved in same folder), though all 4 pages are within the view. even when i moved the files in two different locations on my computer, it still open in that jpg file's name.
subsequently - when I try to export to word, it doesn't export the actual text it exports as a picture.
how do i fix these two problems?
I think you are talking about a PDF that is an image of the content, rather than the captured content itself.
It's only one problem, not two ;)
Open the file in Acrobat, and choose Document > OCR Text Recognition > Recognize Text Using OCR. You can probably leave the default settings as is.Acrobat will process the file and interpret the content as text and images. Save the file and you can export it to Word.
