I know how to create a PDF from a Word Mail merge but I want to step it up a notch and convert a Fillable PDF Form through a Word Mail Merge. I am having a lot of problems doing this. I have converted my Word document to a PDF and then used Live Cycle to turn it into a fillable form and then tried to export that pdf back into a Word document. But when I go back and open the word document up my mail merge won't work. Is there any way to do this?
When you save a PDF to Word format, the resulting file isn’t equivalent to a file created in Word; some coding information may be lost which is probably why the mail merge doesn't work.
Depending on the nature of your project, you may want to consider making your form interactive and extracting the data a different way for reuse. There is a good article from Donna Baker on our website on how to do this at:

Hope this helps,
