I JUST UPGRADED FROM VER 7 TO VER 9.0.0 OF ACROBAT PRO. I AM RUNNING XP VER 5.1 SP2 WITH VISIO PRO 2003 SP2. PDF MAKER DOES NOT CONVERT CERTAIN IMAGES THAT I HAVE DRAGGED INTO MY VISIO FROM THE WEB. THE IMAGES HAVE WHAT APPEARS ARE THIN HORIZONTAL GRAY LINES ACROSS THE IMAGES. TO TEST WHAT IMAGE PROPERTIES COULD BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM:
I MAKE THE PDF USING THE PDF MAKER TAB IN VISIO, IMAGES 1 - 6 CONVERT BUT 7 + 8 HAVE THE LINES THROUGH THEM.
I REPEAT THE PROCESS THIS TIME USING MY PRINT COMMAND TO BRING UP PDF MAKER, IMAGES 2 + 3 HAVE THE LINES THROUGH THEM AND IMAGES 1, 4-8 CONVERT PROPERLLY.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN THIS SO I ASKED A COWORKER THAT STILL WAS USING ACROBAT 7 FOR THESE FUNCTIONS.
ALL IMAGES CONVERT PROPERLLY. I HAVE REBOOTED, REMOVED ALL IMAGES AND REINSERTED THE IMAGES. IMAGES ARE STD JPGS, GIFS, OR BMP.
ALL SETTINGS IN ACROBAT ARE DEFAULT
This is a WAG on my part, no direct experience.
It may be that Acrobat 9 is more fussy about images, but this surprises me that Acrobat 9 does a worse job then Acrobat 7 at something.
I am not sure using your "print" command uses PDF Maker (I thought this used Distiller) - where as the PDF maker uses the Adobe PDF Lib.
