I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 and Acrobat Professional 7.0.9, Distiller 7.0.5. I am now trying to creat a PDF file out of an MS Office 2007 application (in this case Excel) with page size A4 (21.0cm x 29.7cm). All settings in the distiller and whereever I can find it has been set to this format. Nevertheless the created PDF file has the dimensions: 21.587cm x 27.937cm, in complete ignorance of all settings I could find and have adjusted. Is there any further 'master setting' that overrules everything?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, Windows

Hi JerichoTX,

Try this:

To create a custom page size, do one of the following:

Open the Printers properties via the Windows Control panel. Right-click the Adobe PDF printer, and choose Printing Preferences.

Click the Properties button.

In the Adobe PDF Settings tab, click the Add button next to the Adobe PDF Page Size menu.

Specify the name, width, height, and unit of measurement.

Click Add/Modify to add the custom page size name to the Adobe PDF Page Size menu.

My favorite quote - "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

I am trying to do something similiar with PowerPoint 2007 and Acrobat 8.1.2. I am trying to get a 7 x 8.5 page size. When I set those dimensions the end result is 6.5 x 8.0 page size. The printer said they can work with it but I decided to try setting larger page size that might result in the actual size I want. Instead I got a larger size not a smaller page size as I would have expected. I also checked Fit to Page.

Does anyone have any other ideas.

One other thing in PPT -- I have it set to print Notes pages.

Make sure you have your custom page size setup as detailed in the following PDF Creation FAQ:
