PDF Reduction size

I have created a PDF that is 9.3MB which is to large to email to the printer. I have tried splitting the document, first one creates successfully second one gives me an I/O error? What is this and how can I remove it? I have also tried the document reduction size and I get another I/O error, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you create the pdf from and are you trying to split it from Acrobat using "split document". Failing that you could try the extract pages command. Havent come across that warning before i'm affraid.
