I am converting a large number high school yearbook pages to pdf files. I am using Acrobat 8.0 standard, Word 97, and Paint Shop Pro 5. Also a standard HP scanner. Our yearbooks were printed on textured paper with very low resolution. I need to put the pages into PSP to smooth and increase contrast of images.

How do I put all scanned pages into one pdf file?
What type of graphics file (jpg, gif, tif??) would work best?
What resolution (200 or 300 dpi) would work best?
Can I add an index created in Word?
Can I make the names in the index clickable which would link to the actual page containing a person's photograph?
How do I put the whole thing on a CD everyone can open? Simply copy the pdf file?

I posted these questions many months ago and despite many views, not a single tip or response. How about I break it into one topic at a time?

To merge PDF documents, from Acrobat's menu bar "Documents => Insert Pages".As to the other protions, OCR the form to image and hidden text or text. Acrobat 8 will automatically index the text, visible or hidden. You need to use the link tool to add the links from a person's name to their picture. I would also add tags to the PDF.

You can use any CD-ROM/DVD writer to write a PDF to a disk.
