Poor image quality after conversion (Need the highest-res)

Hello,

I need to convert an imagery catalogue and the quality of images is the most important thing.

When I convert from Word2003 to PDF, all the images lose a lot of quality, does not matter what options in the PDFMaker I choose. No compression, 2400ppi, Pre-press, JPG Maximun quality, I tried all and nothing, I get always poorer images (pixeled) in the PDF compared to that in the original Word file.

-Is there any possibility of keeping the image quality when converting from Word to PDF?

If this is impossible, and I am always going to lose quality,

-Which is the maximun image-quality options in PDFMaker? I get a bit lost with the compression methods and color options.

System WinXP + Word2003 + Adobde Standard 8.1

Thank you very much for any help,

Pablo.

Acrobat Standard 8.1, Windows

Hello,

I realized what the problem was so I am going to explain what happened.

The quality of the images seems different in the Word2003 .doc file and in the .PDF file created, this is a fact. But I have realized that the quality is not worst in the PDF; in fact, in the PDF I get the same quality as the original image file.

So, why are the images in Word and PDF different?
The answer seems to be that Word applies automatically a smooth filter to the images pasted to it. This is why the images seems to be "less pixeled" in Word than in the PDF.

So, in conclusion:
PDFMaker do not necessary lose quality of the image in the conversion. The point is that Word2003 automatically applies a smooth filter to the images pasted on it and this makes the images to see different in the .DOC and in the .PDF file.

Hope this can help anyone.

Kind regards,

Pablo.
