PPT to PDF Poster Conversion

I currently use Powerpoint to create posters for my company. I then need to convert that Powerpoint to a PDF file using Adobe in order for the file to be printed on our machines. The problem I am having is that during the conversion we are losing resolution on the file (mostly with picture resolution) and the poster comes out pixelated. Is there a step I am missing when using Distiller that would help this issue? Thanks in advance.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 5, Windows

If you're using MS Office 2007 or Power Point 2007, there is a PDF converter available from Microsoft that could correct the problem.
Search the MS Office site with the keyword PDF converter.

I'm not 100% on this one (I don't use powerpoint) but I imagine that since PPT is primarily for on screen viewing, it will embed a lower resolution (72ppi, screen res) version of the image in the PPT file. This conserves space that would get chewed up by unneeded resolution. This also would explain why you notice it more in raster images than in vector objects, like text. You need a layout program designed for printing.

PDF Transformer is your best choice. It can both convert PDF to editable files and create PDF from your documents. You can even quickly turn scanned PDF images into searchable PDF files.
