Print to PDF Printer problem.

I use Acrobat 8 Standard (v 8.1.0). It worked fine for a couple of months, but now when I send a document to the PDF printer (any document - word, excel, a web page), the file is properly created, but as soon as it is done, an error message pops up next to the printer icon in the system tray saying that the document could not be created, and the print queue in the pdf printer shows that the document has not cleared. If I open the printer to try to clear it, the system hangs. If I right click it and select "delete all print jobs" it clears. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, hoping that it was a driver problem, but that does not work. The document is properly created, but the error still appears and locks up the printer. Any suggestions?

Hi dkrweb,

What operating system and printer are you using?
Did you try using the Repair Acrobat Installation command under the Help menu?

Hi, Lori - thanks for responding. I use Windows XP Pro with SP2, and the "printer" is the "Adobe PDF" printer that installs as part of Acrobat 8 standard - not a hard copy printer, but the adobe "printer" function that creates the .pdf documents from other applications (word, excel, etc.) through acrobat. Yes, I tried the Repair Acrobat installation command. I also completely uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, in case of some sort of file corruption, but the problem persists. The documents do get created, os it's moreof an annoyance than anything else, but I have to go through the "clear all" documents from the printer queue every time I use the function. Thanks for any suggestions.

I am having the exact same problem, and I am running Acrobat 8.1.3 on Windows vista.
