Problem creating PDFs from linked Word 2007 Files

The issue we are having is with a black box covering inserted linked objects in the created pdf. The word files contain tables and graphs inserted from and linked to frequently updated excel files, there are numerous inserted entries so breaking the links is not a solution. Before the upgrade to Office 2007 everything worked flawlessly. Have the most current version of Acrobat Pro 8 installed and fully updated Office 2007. I have tried the Microsoft pdf save as add-in with poor results. The resulting pdfs have very poor image quality for the inserted objects. Before moving back to Office 2003 are there any suggestions? Thanks.

In the PDFMaker settings undr the Acrobat menu,

select to create a quick and easy PDF instead of the normal option. Do the black boxes still show?

Black boxes are still there with quick and easy, tried with the tags, bookmarks, etc. removed too.

One thing I have noticed is that older links that have not been updated yet, post upgrade to Word 2007, still work fine. Maybe this is more of an issue of how links are now embedded into the word file format. Hopefully acrobat will catch up with this soon.
