Problem while converting doc to PDF

Hi - When tried to convert a doc file to PDF, it introduced spaces between word characters in the result PDF file.
For e.g. "Project" became "Pro ject"

But when used Print to PDF it worked fine.

Can somebody please help me to understand why conversion from doc to PDF file introduces spaces in between? Is this an existing bug in Adobe?

Your inputs will be very helpful.

If you haven't already done so, update to 9.1.1.

If that doesn't fix it, can you post a sample file that demonstrates the problem?

Now, I am able to convert the same doc to pdf correctly. I havn't applied any patches or done any changes. But now it works.
May be I will wait for another instance where I can replicate this and then upload the files.

Anyways, Thanks for your suggestions so far. I will try them once I again get this problem.
