Publisher documents are converted to black and white when I create pdf

I have a color document in Publisher that I want to convert to PDF, but it converts to black and white. I've messed around with the settings over and over, but can't get it to work. I have Acrobat 9 Standard and Publisher 2007. Anyone know the settings I need to change to get this to work? I don't have the same problem when I convert a Word document.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.3.1, Windows

How are you creating your PDF from Publisher -- from the print menu or through the PDFMaker macro in Publisher?

I have tried it a few different ways... First, I try "Print", and then I choose "Adobe PDF", then I choose "Print". It makes me save it as a pdf file and then converts it, but unfortunately, to black and white.

I've also tried it using "Adobe PDF" at the top of the toolbar in Publisher. The choices there are "Convert to Adobe PDF", "Convert to Adobe PDF and Email", "Convert to Adobe PDF and Review" and "Change Conversion Settings"... still doesn't work there.

When I just opened Adobe Acrobat 9 and chose "File" and "Create PDF", it worked on one form, but when I tried it on the next one, I got the error message: "Missing PDFMaker Files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?". Why would it work on one file and then not work on the very next one?

Do you know what settings I need to change in Publisher to have it convert correctly there?

This is so frustrating.

In the Print menu with the Adobe PDF printer selected, click on Properties. In the Adobe PDF Document Properties menu, click on the Adobe PDF Settings tab. What setting do you have selected under the Default Settings pulldown?
