Hi everyone. I have created a poster in Publisher - 11 x 17. When I convert to PDF it splits the file, but I can't seem to figure out how to make the change in Acrobat to have the file size convert as is.
Can anyone help????!!
My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.1.1, Windows
Using Publisher 2007 and the Acrobat 9 PDFMaker I've been able to output a 11x17 Publisher file to an 11x17 PDF.
Had to do the following:
#1. From the Command ribbon, selected Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings In the Acrobat PDFMaker dialog I selected the Conversion Setting "Standard". However, any setting will do. Clicked on the "Advanced Settings" button. The "Standard - Adobe PDF Settings dialog appears. For "General", I changed Default Page Size to Width = 11 & Height = 17. Did a Save As & kept the default of "Standard (1)" for this new Job Option. Clicked OK to close the dialog. Clicked OK again to close the Acrobat PDFMaker dialog.
Alternatively, you could open Distiller, select a 'canned' job option, edit it as needed.
#2. Next, selected File > Print Setup to get the Print Setup dialog. Changed the Paper Size to Tabloid, left Orientation as-is at Portrait. Confirmed that Printer Name was Adobe PDF . (although that's a given for me - all computers I use have Adobe PDF as my default printer) Clicked on the Properties... button. In the dialog window that appears (Adobe PDF Document Properties), under the "Adobe PDF Settings" tab, I selected "Standard(1)" for Default Settings.
Clicked out with OK - OK.
Clicked on the Create Adobe PDF icon that's on the ribbon. Clicked through the dialog window(s) and got an output PDF of 11x17.
Having Office 2007 SP2 in place I tried the MS Publish to PDF or XPS. This output was also 11x17.
As PDFMaker provides options for the output of a more "well formed" PDF I'd go with it.
You just need a Distiller Job Option that reflects the desired page size (#1) and then have this job option selected (#2).
Typed this up on the fly as it were; think I got it all Ought to work for you as well.
