Scan Size defaults to 8.5 x 14

When I send paper through the ADF to scan, it always ends up as a shrunk .pdf because it is defaulting to assuming I am sending in 8.5 x 14 but I always use 8.5 x 11.

I read through some older posts and found out how to fix my scans that are coming in at 8.5 x 14, thank you all very much.

But, is there a way to set a default?

If I set it to show the interface I can fix the scans, but when I scan with the ADF it always defaultst to 14". It is simple to change it on each scan, but I scan about 100 times per weeks so I would like to save the step.

I have Adobe 8.1.4 with Windows 7 64 bit and scanning from HP M2727.

In the Scanner Options dialog box, does this still happen if you specify the page size from the pulldown?

If so, I may have something to do with using Acrobat 8 on Windows 7. The first version of Acrobat to support Windows 7 was Acrobat 9.2. Have you updated all your HP drivers for Windows 7?

I don't get any options in my "Scanner Options" box. It is a drop down that contains nothing and I can't click on it.
The HP M2727 is not supported in Windows 7. HP has not created a driver for it or any software. I had to change the settings to run it as if it were in Vista to get it to work.
If Acrobat 9 works better, then I will buy that. But that may not solve my HP issue ( I don't know).
When I used the same scanner with Vista and the same Acrobat 8, it worked well. The change to Windows 7 is what started the issue.

My guess is that it's a compatibility issue with Windows 7. I've never tried it, but have you tried changing the compatibility mode of Acrobat like you did with the scanner?

Also found out that some scanners may not report "supported sizes" to Acrobat when "Hide Scanner's Native Interface" is selected in "Scanner Options" inside Acrobat 8. When this happens switch the "User Interface" option to "Show Scanner's Native Interface" and select the page size from scanner application.

I am running Acrobat Standard 8.1.4 and have an Epson GT-2500 scanner connected via a USB cable. I scanned about 100 pages or more of 8.5 x 11 pages and everything was perfect. Then I scanned one sheet that was 8.5 x 14 and now Acrobat will not revert back to 8.5 x 11 - everything scans at 8.5 x 14. It is definitely an Acrobat problem because my other software does not have this issue. I prefer scanning with Acrobat. Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

Have you tried selecting the "Restore Defaults" button under the Scanner Options dialog of the Acrobat Scan menu?
