"Scanning Cancelled" error message

On occasion when I am using the feeder on my scanner and I get a paper jam, once I clear the document and try the scan again, I get a message saying "Scanning Cancelled". I can't get the scan to go through for about 20-30 minutes afterwards without getting the message.
I have tried re-booting after getting the message, but it seems to make no difference.

I went through the posts, but could not find this issue anywhere else.

Any ideas?

I ran into the same problem today with my HP scanner/copier/printer. The first time I used it with the feeder (by launching from within Acrobat 8 Professional by selecting "Create PDF" on the menu bar), and it seemed to work except for the fact that the margins on the second page were not acceptable. When I tried doing it again but without the feeder, I got the "Scanning Cancelled" (Scanning Canceled) error message.

Resolution occurred when I reset the scanner by turning it off, and then on again. Not sure where the problem really resides; would seem to be with the scanner itself, but may be within the driver.
