I run a Dual 1.8GHz G4 Power PC, My scanner is an Epson Perfection 2450. BOTH WORK WELL
I use Acrobat 8 Professional.
Scanning to a PDF and the result is that a part of the text at the top of the page is repeated at the bottom. I don't know how to correct this. I could send you the page in PDF in order for you to see the problem.
Thanks

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8, Macintosh

Hi Lorm,

Are you using the Universal Binary scanner driver? To check whether your installed scanner driver is a Universal Binary driver, do the following:
1. In Finder, go to Library > Image Capture > TWAIN Data Sources.
2. Select the scanner driver.
3. Ctrl-click and select Get Info.
4. Check the Kind property. It will read Package (PowerPC) or Package (Universal).

If the Kind is Package (PowerPC), then contact the scanner manufacturer to obtain the latest driver.

At this time Acrobat 8, supports just the Universal Binary TWAIN drivers on Intel-based Macintosh computers.

Hope this helps,
Lori
