Scanning Problem with Brother MFC

My scanner no longer works properly with Acrobat 8.0. I have been using a Brother MFC 8500 all-in-one machine. It recently began acting strangely - the scanned image once placed in Acrobat would show as a scribbled/scrunched line at the top of the document page. I've reinstalled the scanner drivers to no effect. My guess is that an update to Acrobat may have caused the problem. I haven't changed any configuration. I am tempted to reinstall Acrobat from scratch to prove my theory but would prefer a fix to the problem.

If you are using Windows Vista, you may need a different printer driver. Check the Windows compatibility list for your printer. If this does not solve the problem, re-post this issue.

Hi Eugene.

Thanks for the response. The operating system is Windows XP. The setup had been fine for the better part of a year (using Acrobat 7.0 and then updgrading to version 8.0) and then it just quit working. My assumption was that an update stopped Acrobat from working. I haven't changed the physical setup and I haven't installed any other software. Microsoft or Adobe may have updated me automatically as they like to do.

I'm open to other suggestions.

Thanks.
Jon.
