I just bought Acrobat 9 pro and started to work with it yesterday. So far so good. I created a form with fields, no problem there. However, even though I did not set up any security when I open the file that I created with Acrobat Reader like any user's would do, I cannot make a copy of it. the user can only print the form. I want my user to be able to save the file after they have filled out the fields with a new name. How can I do that please.

What do you think you get for free? Reader is just that a 'reader' program and not much more. If one wants more functionality, then one needs upgrade and purchase a more powerful program or purchase the ability to apply special rights to a PDF file so a user with Reader could add comments or save forms. With Acrobat 8 Professional, Adobe allowed the creator to add the special rights to PDFs being distributed up to 500 individuals, after that limit one needs to purchase a special LiveCycle Server. See the FAQs for more information.

I am sorry but I must not have explained myself very well. I have use them multiple times and have been able to do a save as.
I am not using a FREE program. I have said that I just bought Acrobat 9 Pro $499.00. I don't consider that free.
I have also said that I created successfully a form to be filled by users. I have not set any security. However, as a user the form cannot be "save as" it can only be printed will the fields filled in but cannot be saved with fields filled in. That, to me, does not make any sense.
Please explain,
Thank you,

If a user has Reader they can fill in the form and print the form. If you want a user with Reader to have more abilities, then you need to provide special rights that you have paid for. Acrobat Professional gives you a limited distribution of rights enabled forms, and to distribute a form with rights to a larger number of people, you need to pay for that right. Adobe does not write software for free and I expect that you do not or will not work for free.

I figured it out. It was something simple that did not necessitate for me to spoken to the way I was. My question was: How can my user save their PDF file once they have filled the form as a new PDF file? The answer is: If you have Acrobat 8 or higher you do the following:
Open your file with Acrobat 8 or 9 Pro
Click on “Close from editing”
Select “Advanced”
Select “Extend features in Adobe Reader”
Click on “Save Now”
That will do the trick.
