Is there a way to create "categories" in the Bookmark Panel?

I am very new to Acrobat Professional 9 and am trying to do "Indexed" bookmarks for a manual I'm creating. There are several pages that can be "nested" under one category and I'd like to know if it's possible to create a bookmark for the category name that doesn't link to anything. In other words, it would be just a heading for the pages nested underneath it. I have tried to just add a bookmark name but it always links to whatever page happens to be visible to the right of the bookmark panel.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

to create a bookmark that is only a label (i.e., has no associated action) do this: create the bookmark in the regular way. (by default a 'go to page' action will be created) access the properties of the bookmark (right click on the bookmark label, select properties). select actions tab. select any action associated with the bookmark; click delete; click OK.
