TOC in PDF worked in Acrobat 7 problems with Acrobat 8

When I take a word document (2003) that has a table of contents and create a pdf i have issues with the TOC.

The major sections are linked fine, one continuous link . The minor sections the links are broken up into ~7 different boxes. I want to be able to color these links. But these multiple boxes are making it very difficult.

I know in Acrobat 7 when I created a PDF a link would be created for each entry.

I have gone to the "Change Conversion Settings" and made sure the ver 8 settings were exactly like the ver 7.

Has anyone else experienced this, if so were you able to fix it

Thank you

Multiple link boxes in the subsections are created because the TOC2 style has a font effect of "small caps". If this is removed or changed to "all caps" I get the desired outcome of 1 link box per entry.

Does anyone know how to get acrobat to recognize the style of TOC2 from Word (small caps) as one entry.

Thank You
