I have a Word document that has several org charts created in Visio pasted into it. When I convert the Word file into a PDF, the text (labels) from the boxes in some of the org charts appear sprayed across the page in the PDF. But other org charts appear correctly.
We're using Windows XP, Word 2003, Visio 2007, and Acrobat 8 Professional, and using the "Copy drawing" function in Visio, then "paste" in Word.
I can't find any instructions in either Visio or Acrobat that talk about how to get place Visio drawings so that Acrobat reads them correctly.
Can anyone help?
You might have more consistent results if you use the Paste Special command rather than simply the Paste. In that case, Word embeds the chart data along with the chart appearance.
Do you need the charts to be selectable text? If not, the simplest way to use them, and one that will always work properly, is to capture an image of your org chart and place that in your word file.
