Word to distiller page size

I write a catalog in word 2000.It's 6 X !0, so in page set up I format word to 6 X !0 pages.

Acrobat 5.0 distiller is my default printer. In properties & in edit conversion settings I set pages to 6 X 10.
But distiller keeps printing letter size, although it does show the 6 X 10 psge in the center of an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet.
Can anyone please tell mehow I may get distiller to just print the 6 X 10 document?

Thanks

Frank

Hi lifex1,

Thanks for providing detail on what versions of Word and Acrobat you're using. The issue here is that Word 2000 ignores custom page sizes when you configure Word to use the PostScript Custom Page Size setting.

To get around this, re-create the PDF file using Acrobat Distiller Printer. Select PostScript Custom Page Size on the Paper tab in Word's Page Setup dialog box, but ignore the Width and Height settings. Instead, set the custom page size in Acrobat Distiller Printer.

To set a custom page size in Acrobat Distiller Printer:

1. Choose File > Print, and then select Acrobat Distiller from the Name pop-up menu.2. Click Properties, and then click Advanced.

3. Choose PostScript Custom Page Size from the Paper Size pop-up menu.

4. Enter the Width and Height in the PostScript Custom Page Size Definition dialog box. Click OK three times.

5. Click Yes when Acrobat Distiller returns the warning "The margins of section 1 are set outside the printable area of the page. Do you want to continue?"

Hope this helps,
Lori

Lori,
I tried this with Acrobat 8 pro and Word 2003 however, it is not a good workaround since I am trying to create a larger custom page size - 11x11.5. I need to have that page size defined in Word to have the page breaks in the appropriate place.

I tried to create the page size in Print/ properties/adobe pdf settings tab/ADD adobe pdf page size and it won't save my settings. Does this require administrative rights?
