Word to PDF - No "Document Title" Consistency

When converting a MS Word doc to PDF the document title in the MS Word properties field does not carry over to the PDF title field. Instead Acrobat inserts the MS Word file name in the document title field. This screws up our Google Search results as Google looks at the document title field.

Is there a way to convert a MS Word file to a PDF and have the document title preserved in the PDF?

Thanks

Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, Windows

Have you looked at the PDF Maker conversion settings option for the "Convert Document Information"?

To get the PDF title to appear on the Acrobat/Reader bar, you will need to set the PDF's property's 'Initial View" "Windows Option" to "Show" "Document Title".

I'm actually talking about the "Title" of the document that is located on the "Description" tab within Document Properties.

Does the source Word document have its property fields filled in with the correct document title?

I have found that if the Word file has the "Title" field completed and the PDF Maker conversion settings are properly set, the information will appear in the PDF's "Properties" tab "Title" field and it will also appear in Windows Explorer's context menu "Properties" option under the "PDF" tab. Now if you apply security to the PDF the properties facing the OS can become encrypted.

Yes the Word document does have the property fields completed with the document title correctly.

I did some additional testing after reviewing your response and found the problem.

I had been converting documents by clicking File>Print and then selecting "Adobe PDF" from the list of available printers. Following this process the MS File Name populated the document title field in the PDF file.By selecting "Adobe PDF" from the MS Word menu bar and then selecting "Convert to Adobe PDF" the MS Word document title carried over to the PDF.

PROMBLEM SOLVED - THANKS!

Now you know there is a big difference between printing and converting in Acrobat. Conversion of linked text to links and creating linked bookmarks from selected Word structures.
