I want to write a PDF file to CD. But that file should not be copied to any of computer. That File Just Runs from the CD itself.
so that user only can read the information.

Thanks in Advance
Kind Regards

Qadeer,
I do not think you will get such a result. If the computer operating system can see the CD-ROM content, the content can be copied.
If the content is encrypted or a password is needed to open the PDF you would have some measure of "read" control.

Be well...

If you need to bind the PDF to the CD you will need to investigate in a product such as Hexalock. Milage may vary with such products.

There is a flag available on the CD-ROM Orange Book spec that is to prevent copy of material from the media. However, it requires the reading operating system to enforce it. The DVD Spes (UDF 1.5) has a similar feature (and not in any way related to DSS encryption).

The unfortunate thing is that none of the major OS manufacturers (MS, Apple, UNIX/Linux) respect the 'do not copy' flags.

To go along with DAKA630's - depending on your situation you can start with User passwords, then you would have to move to something such as Adobe LiveCycle Policy Server ES or similar tool.

Hope this helps.

Depending on the value of what you are trying to prevent the copy of... It would be a fairly simple process to create a autorun program for both MAC and PC that incorporates the PDF as a resource. This program could verify it was being run from the CDROM. This would require custom programming of an application for you. Just remember that if the reader can see it at any time, there are ways to capture it. It also would not prevent copying the CD. DRM is a deep subject that is fraught with many challenges (pro and con). Good luck.

After all is said and done, there is always more said than done.
